Iran Brokers Secret Talks to Transfer Russian Anti-Ship Missiles to Yemen's Houthis, Ansar Allah
Sep 24, 2024, 08:40 PM
Iran has been facilitating secret negotiations between Russia and Yemen's Houthi rebels, also known as Ansar Allah, to transfer advanced anti-ship missiles to the militant group, according to three Western and regional sources. These talks, brokered by Tehran, aim to enhance the Houthis' capability to strike Red Sea commercial shipping and increase the threat to U.S. and allied warships. Despite the ongoing discussions, Moscow has yet to decide on the transfer of the missiles, Reuters reports.
