U.S. Job Openings Surge to 8.098 Million in November, Highest Since June 2024

The U.S. Department of Labor released the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) data for November, revealing that job openings rose to 8.098 million, surpassing the consensus estimate of 7.7 million. This figure represents the highest level of job openings since June 2024. The job openings rate increased to 4.8% from the previous month's revised rate of 4.7%. Additionally, the quits level was reported at 3.065 million, with a quits rate of 1.9%, down from the previous month's revised figure of 3.283 million and a quits rate of 2.1%. The layoffs level stood at 1.765 million, with a layoffs rate of 1.1%, slightly up from the previous month's revised figure of 1.748 million and a layoffs rate of 1.1%.
