On January 8, 2025, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that it conducted multiple precision airstrikes targeting two underground storage facilities used by the Iranian-backed Houthi movement in Yemen. The strikes were aimed at Advanced Conventional Weapons (ACW) storage sites located in Houthi-controlled areas, specifically in the capital city of Sana’a and the Amran region. CENTCOM reported that the facilities had been utilized by the Houthis to launch attacks on commercial shipping and U.S. warships. The military statement indicated that there were no injuries or damage to U.S. personnel or equipment as a result of these operations.
