Human Rights Watch Accuses Israel of Genocide in Gaza, MSF Reports Ethnic Cleansing
Dec 19, 2024, 02:09 PM
Human Rights Watch (HRW) has accused Israel of committing acts of genocide in Gaza, focusing on the deliberate deprivation of water to Palestinian civilians. According to HRW's 179-page report, Israeli authorities have intentionally restricted access to safe water since October 2023, leading to thousands of deaths from dehydration and disease. The report details how Israel cut off and later limited piped water to the enclave, targeted water and sanitation infrastructure, and blocked the entry of critical water supplies. HRW also highlighted statements from senior Israeli officials calling for water cuts as incitement to genocide. In response, Israeli authorities have dismissed these accusations as 'blood libel' and claim to be providing sufficient water to Gaza. Additionally, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has reported clear signs of ethnic cleansing in Gaza, citing the forced displacement of Palestinians and the destruction of essential civilian infrastructure. MSF's observations align with those of other organizations concluding that genocide is occurring in Gaza.
