VisitUNRWA Reports 1 Million People Flee Rafah in Past 3 Weeks Amid Humanitarian Crisis
May 28, 2024, 07:56 AM
According to the United Nations Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA), around one million people have fled the Gazan city of Rafah in the past three weeks. This mass displacement has occurred amidst bombardments, lack of food and water, piles of waste, and unsuitable living conditions, leaving those displaced with nowhere safe to go. The humanitarian emergency in the region has escalated, making it nearly impossible for UNRWA to provide assistance and protection. Additionally, a UN report highlights that over 800,000 people have been displaced from Rafah, Gaza.
