VisitEU Urges China to Cease Human Rights Violations After Xizang Visit
Jun 18, 2024, 10:15 AM
The European Union has reiterated its call for China to cease human rights violations following an EU delegation's visit to Tibet and meetings with Chinese officials. This appeal was made after the China-EU Human Rights Dialogue, held from June 13-17, where the EU delegation visited Xizang. In response, China has opposed the politicization of human rights issues and lodged stern representations to the European Union regarding the content of its 2023 annual report on Human Rights and Democracy in the World. China emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation instead of confrontation, with the aim of contributing positively to global human rights causes, according to foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
