Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack involving over 110 UAVs on multiple regions in Russia overnight on October 19-20, 2024, reportedly targeting critical military infrastructure and causing explosions and fires. Attacks were reported on the Kremniy EL microelectronics plant in Bryansk, which produces components for Russian Iskander missiles and Pantsir air defense systems, marking at least the fourth drone attack on this facility. The Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, which manufactures explosives, artillery shells, aerial bombs, and warheads for anti-tank guided missiles and air defense systems, was also targeted. The Lipetsk-2 military airfield in Russia's Lipetsk region was struck, with Ukrainian sources claiming hits on ammunition depots, fuel storage facilities, and aviation equipment, including Su-34, Su-35, and MiG-31 aircraft. UAV attacks were also reported in Oryol, Lipetsk, Kursk, Tula, Ryazan, Ivanovo, and Kaluga regions, as well as a drone being shot down near Moscow in the Ramenskoye district. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems shot down at least 110 drones during the attacks.
