Trump Claims Peaceful Transfer of Power After Jan. 6 in Chicago Interview, Deflects on Future Commitment
Oct 15, 2024, 05:48 PM
In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump repeatedly asserted that there was a peaceful transfer of power following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Trump described the events of January 6 as involving 'love and peace,' despite widespread violence and chaos. When asked by Bloomberg News' John Micklethwait if he would commit to ensuring a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the upcoming election, Trump deflected, insisting that the previous transfer was peaceful. Micklethwait challenged this claim, calling it 'by far the worst transfer of power for a long time.' Trump also attacked the reporter during the interview. In Chicago, Trump further claimed that people were waved into the Capitol by police.
