Pakistani Army Officer and Relatives Released After TTP Abduction, Gandapur Tribe Involved
Aug 31, 2024, 05:38 PM
A Lieutenant Colonel of the Pakistan Army, Khalid Ameer, along with three of his relatives, was abducted by suspected militants in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan. The abductees included an Assistant Commissioner and a NADRA employee. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) released videos showing the captives pleading for the government to meet the militants' demands. However, all abductees were safely and unconditionally released, reportedly due to the intervention of tribal elders, local notables, and the Gandapur tribe. The TTP has not officially acknowledged the kidnapping or the release, raising questions about the incident.
