Giants' Rookies Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Make NFL History with 1,000-Yard Seasons
Dec 29, 2024, 06:30 PM
New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers surpassed 1,000 receiving yards and reached 100 receptions during the game against the Indianapolis Colts. Nabers caught a 31-yard touchdown screen pass, giving the Giants a 7-3 lead. This play brought his totals to 98 receptions for 1,000 yards and five touchdowns. He later added a 34-yard catch, marking his 100th reception and increasing his receiving yards to 1,053. Nabers is only the second Giants rookie to achieve over 1,000 receiving yards, joining Odell Beckham Jr. Notably, he is just five catches away from surpassing Puka Nacua's rookie reception record of 105. Additionally, Nabers and rookie running back Tyrone Tracy became the third rookie teammates in NFL history—and the first since 2006—to each surpass 1,000 yards from scrimmage in the same season, a feat last accomplished by Reggie Bush and Marques Colston with the New Orleans Saints.
