Tether has expanded its presence by launching USDT and gold-backed stablecoins (XAUT) on the TON blockchain, a move that integrates with Telegram's messaging platform to facilitate crypto payments. This development was announced by Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino and Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, with the official launch scheduled for April 20th. The integration aims to enhance peer-to-peer, cross-border payments among Telegram users, leveraging TON's decentralized nature. Additionally, Tether minted 1 billion USDT on Ethereum, indicating significant activity in stablecoin operations. USDT and XAUT are now live on TON and available in the Telegram wallet, enabling direct crypto payments.
