The European Union has disbursed the first tranche of €3 billion to Ukraine as part of a €45 billion G7 loan package. This initial payment is funded by the earnings from frozen Russian assets. The total loan amount is set at $50 billion, with the EU's contribution amounting to €18.1 billion. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that this financial support aims to provide Ukraine with the means to continue its fight for freedom. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed the receipt of the funds, noting that they are crucial for Ukraine's resilience against Russian aggression.
