Dec 14, 2024, 02:20 PM
Ahmed Al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, the leader of the new Syrian administration, announced comprehensive plans for rebuilding and developing Syria, based on their administrative experience in Idlib. He stated that they have collected information and have systematic plans to address the destruction caused by the previous regime. Al-Sharaa declared that they have ended Iran's presence in Syria, which he described as a victory over Iran's dangerous regional project, noting they have no hostility towards the Iranian people. He also mentioned that they have given Russia an opportunity to reassess its relationship with the Syrian people, having tried to avoid provoking them. He emphasized that they are not seeking conflict with Israel due to Syria's exhausted state, asserting that Israel uses the Iranian presence as an excuse to enter Syria. Furthermore, Al-Sharaa revealed that they are engaging with the international community and communicating with Western embassies, including Britain, to restore diplomatic relations.
