VisitStripe to Accept Crypto Payments with USDC This Summer on Solana, Ethereum, Polygon
Apr 25, 2024, 05:26 PM
Stripe, the digital payments giant, announced it will reintroduce cryptocurrency payments this summer, starting with USDC stablecoin. The service will be available on platforms including Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon. This move comes after a hiatus of nearly a decade, marking a significant shift in Stripe's approach to crypto payments. The announcement was made at the company's Connect developer conference by co-founder John Collison. Stripe's integration will allow for instant settlement of transactions on-chain and automatic conversion to fiat currencies, aiming to enhance the utility of cryptocurrencies as a means of exchange. Notably, Stripe is used by 2.84 million live websites and over 100 companies process more than $1 billion each annually through Stripe.
