Aug 27, 2024, 05:05 AM
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, has revealed in a letter to the House Judiciary Committee and Chairman Jim Jordan that the Biden-Harris administration and senior officials pressured Meta to censor COVID-19 content on Facebook and Instagram during the pandemic. Zuckerberg expressed regret over Meta's compliance with these demands, stating that the government pressure was wrong and that he regrets not being more outspoken about it. He also mentioned that the FBI was involved in the pressure during 2021. He emphasized that content standards should not be compromised under any administration and vowed that Meta would resist similar attempts in the future.
