Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms Inc., revealed during an interview with Joe Rogan that the Biden administration pressured Facebook to censor content related to COVID-19 vaccine side effects, even when the information was accurate. Zuckerberg stated that officials 'pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly true,' insisting that 'anything that says vaccines might have side effects' should be removed. He recounted instances where the administration's representatives called and 'screamed and cursed' at employees to enforce censorship, including the removal of memes such as one featuring Leonardo DiCaprio looking at a TV. Zuckerberg noted that when Meta resisted these demands, the administration began investigating the company, and that emails documenting these pressures have been published. He described the ordeal as 'brutal.'
