VisitZelensky Says North Korea Sending 10,000 Troops to Russia, Calls It "First Step to World War"
Oct 17, 2024, 11:21 AM
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused North Korea of actively participating in Russia's war against Ukraine by supplying weapons, military personnel, and factory workers to support Moscow's efforts. Speaking in parliament and during a press conference after the European Council meeting, Zelensky stated that Pyongyang is preparing to send a contingent of 10,000 soldiers from various military branches, with some North Korean officers already deployed in Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine. He described North Korea's involvement as the "first step to World War" and part of a "coalition of criminals alongside Putin." Zelensky noted that North Korea's assistance extends beyond weapon transfers to include personnel for Russian factories and military operations. He said he has discussed North Korea's involvement with the United States and other partners.
