VisitZelensky Requests 2,400 km Range Tomahawk Missiles from U.S. in 'Victory Plan', U.S. Officials Call It Unrealistic
Oct 29, 2024, 12:35 PM
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly requested Tomahawk missiles from the United States as part of a secret 'Victory Plan,' according to The New York Times. The request, which includes missiles with a range of 2,400 kilometers, has been deemed unrealistic by senior U.S. officials. Zelensky's proposal, which aims to strengthen Ukraine's deterrence capabilities through a 'non-nuclear deterrence package,' has not convinced Western diplomats of its necessity. Zelensky emphasized that Russia must either engage in diplomacy or risk losing its war machine. The Tomahawk's range is seven times greater than Ukraine's current capabilities. The plan's feasibility is questioned due to its heavy reliance on Western aid and the lack of support from the U.S. Department of Defense for providing the Tomahawk missiles and the requisite Typhon launchers.
