Yemen's Houthi rebels have released the 25-member crew of the Israeli-owned Galaxy Leader, a roll-on/roll-off vehicle carrier seized in the Red Sea on November 19, 2023. The crew had been held captive for over a year. The release was coordinated with Hamas and brokered by Oman as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The crew members, from multiple nationalities including Bulgaria, were handed over to Oman. The Houthis stated that the release was in support of Gaza and the ceasefire agreement.
