Yellen: US Nears Finalization of $20 Billion Contribution to $50 Billion Ukraine Loan Using Russian Assets

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen announced that the United States is very close to finalizing its portion of a $50 billion loan package to Ukraine. The US is expected to contribute $20 billion to this package. Yellen emphasized that this loan will not be financed by US taxpayers but will come from revenues generated from Russian assets. She also mentioned that if a truce is reached, Russia will repay the loan.
