VisitYankees' Alex Verdugo Allergic to Cobalt, Chromate in Gloves, Tattoos; May Use Dupixent
Aug 17, 2024, 11:16 AM
New York Yankees outfielder Alex Verdugo has been diagnosed with an allergy to chemicals found in his batting gloves and possibly the metal ink used in his tattoos. The chemicals, identified as cobalt and chromate, have been causing blistering on his hands, an issue Verdugo has reportedly been dealing with since 2021. Despite the allergy, Verdugo continues to wear batting gloves. A doctor informed him of the allergy after he complained about blistering. He may begin taking Dupixent shots to manage the condition.
