VisitYale Report: Putin Authorized Coerced Adoption of 314 Ukrainian Children
Dec 3, 2024, 02:04 PM
A report by Yale University's School of Public Health has revealed that Russian presidential aircraft and funds were used in a program to forcibly transfer 314 Ukrainian children from occupied territories to Russia. The children were subjected to coerced adoption and fostering, with many being placed with Russian families after their Ukrainian identities were stripped. This operation, which began in the early months of the war, was allegedly authorized by President Vladimir Putin and senior Kremlin officials. The report highlights that 166 of these children were adopted by Russian families, while others remain in pro-Russia camps or with officials' families. The Yale study has documented these acts as grave violations of international law, and the evidence has been handed over to the International Criminal Court for further investigation into potential war crimes and crimes against humanity.
