Xiaomi has commenced mass production at its new smart factory in Beijing's Changping district. The facility, which represents an investment of CNY2.4 billion (USD330 million), spans 81,000 square meters and has an annual production capacity of 10 million smartphones. This factory will manufacture Xiaomi's latest models, including the MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip. Notably, the robot-operated factory is highly automated, operating 24/7 with robots, and has been referred to as a 'dark factory' by Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun. It is capable of producing 1 smartphone per second. This development marks a significant milestone for Xiaomi as it continues to expand its manufacturing capabilities and technological advancements.
