VisitWoodside Energy Signs $1.3 Billion Agreement for Louisiana LNG Project with Bechtel, 16.5 Million Tonnes Capacity

Woodside Energy has signed a significant agreement for the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Louisiana, which could enhance the state's position as a leader in clean energy. The total expenditure for the Louisiana LNG project is forecasted to reach up to $1.3 billion from December 2024 to the end of the first quarter of 2025. The company has entered into a revised contract with Bechtel to develop three trains with a capacity of 16.5 million tonnes per annum. The overall cost for constructing the export facility is estimated to be between $15 billion and $16 billion.
