VisitWembanyama's Historic 30-Point, 10-Block Game Secures Spurs' Season-Best Win Over Blazers
Dec 22, 2024, 03:29 AM
Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic performance by scoring 30 points, tying his career-high with 10 blocks, and grabbing 7 rebounds in the San Antonio Spurs' 114-94 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. He became the sixth player in NBA history—and the first since Dwight Howard in 2008—to record at least 30 points and 10 blocks in a game, joining legends such as Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. At just 20 years old, Wembanyama is the first player to have multiple 10-block games before turning 21 since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74. He also became the first player ever to record 10 blocks and four three-pointers in a single game. The Spurs achieved their largest margin of victory this season and improved their record to 15-13. Wembanyama sat out the final 8 1/2 minutes of the fourth quarter as the Spurs secured their second consecutive win.
