Nov 14, 2024, 03:00 AM
Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic performance by scoring a career-high 50 points in just 26 minutes during the San Antonio Spurs' victory over the Washington Wizards on November 14, 2024. At 20 years and 314 days old, he became the fourth youngest player in NBA history to reach the 50-point mark, following Brandon Jennings, LeBron James, and Devin Booker. Wembanyama shot 18-of-29 from the field, including a career-high eight three-pointers on 8-of-16 shooting from beyond the arc, making him the tallest player in NBA history to hit eight or more three-pointers in a game. He also contributed six rebounds, two blocks, and one steal. His 50-point game is the first by a Spurs player since LaMarcus Aldridge in 2019 and ties Paolo Banchero for the most points by any player this season. Wembanyama is the first player to record 20 three-pointers and 25 blocks over a six-game span. He is also the first center in NBA history to record three consecutive games with five or more three-pointers made. Over his last three games, he has amassed 19 three-pointers and joined elite company with his outstanding performances.
