VisitWells Fargo Fires Over a Dozen Employees in June 2024 for Faking Work Activity

In June 2024, Wells Fargo terminated more than a dozen employees after an investigation revealed they were simulating keyboard activity to give the impression of active work. The employees, all from the firm's wealth- and investment-management unit, were found to be using methods such as mouse movers to fake their work activity. This action was reported in a Finra filing and highlighted by Bloomberg's Hannah Levitt.
