WazirX Hacker Launders $6.5M in 26 Transfers of 2,600 ETH Through Tornado Cash

The hacker responsible for the $235 million breach of the Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has begun laundering the stolen funds. The attacker has transferred approximately $6.5 million worth of Ether (2,600 ETH) to Tornado Cash, a service that mixes cryptocurrency to obscure its origins. The transfers were conducted in multiple transactions, including 26 transfers of 100 ETH each and 16 transactions on the Ethereum network. The wallet balance dropped from $6.7 million to just $154,000. The breach, which was revealed on July 18, 2024, has significantly impacted WazirX, causing the platform to struggle with withdrawals.
