VisitWarriors Finalize $21M Sign-and-Trade Deal with 76ers for Buddy Hield, Send 2031 Pick
Jul 4, 2024, 06:18 PM
The Golden State Warriors have finalized a sign-and-trade deal to acquire Buddy Hield from the Philadelphia 76ers. Hield, a career 40% three-point shooter, played a league-leading 84 games last season. The Warriors will send a 2031 second-round pick via Dallas to the 76ers as part of the deal. Hield's contract is guaranteed for two years and $21 million, with $18 million in the first two years and a $3 million partial guarantee in the third year, along with a player option on a non-guaranteed fourth year. This move comes as the Warriors seek to replace Klay Thompson's shooting capabilities. Hield and Stephen Curry are the NBA leaders in three-pointers made over the last five seasons, making them a formidable new duo for the Warriors. The deal is part of a five-team trade that also brings Kyle Anderson and De'Anthony Melton to Golden State.
