VisitWarner Bros. Discovery Ends 'Sesame Street' Deal, New Episodes Seek New Home
Dec 13, 2024, 04:52 PM
Warner Bros. Discovery has opted not to renew its deal with HBO and Max for new episodes of the iconic children's show 'Sesame Street'. The decision reflects a strategic shift at Max to focus more on adult and family programming, reducing emphasis on children's content. However, Max will continue to license episodes from the 'Sesame Street' library through 2027, ensuring that some of the show's vast catalog remains available to viewers. Sesame Workshop, the show's producer, is now seeking a new home for its original episodes, with plans to reimagine the series for its upcoming 56th season. This season will feature longer narrative-led segments and introduce a new animated series, 'Tales From 123', marking a significant departure from the traditional 'magazine-style' format.
