Aug 26, 2024, 10:50 AM
Walmart has issued a recall for 9,535 cases of its Great Value brand apple juice due to elevated levels of inorganic arsenic. The recall affects products sold in 25 states, including Florida, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. The apple juice, produced by Refresco Beverages US Inc., was found to contain arsenic levels above industry standards, prompting the recall. The affected juice is packaged in 8oz bottles and carries a "best if used by" date of December 28, 2024. The recall was initiated following detection by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of potentially harmful levels of the toxic metal.
