WalletConnect to Launch Native Token WCT with 185 Million Airdrop on September 24 on Optimism

WalletConnect is set to launch its native token, Connect Token (WCT), with an airdrop of 185 million WCT to users. The WalletConnect Network, which has been providing open-source infrastructure for wallet-app connections since 2018, aims to enhance onchain experiences for over 23 million users. The initial supply of WCT is capped at 1 billion, with 18.5% allocated for the first season to reward early adopters. The airdrop will commence on September 24 and will be available on Optimism's Mainnet. The WCT token will play a key role in the network's decentralization efforts and will have four key functions.
