Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate, plans to run for Governor of Ohio in 2026, according to reports from The Washington Post. Sources indicate that Ramaswamy has been preparing for this bid and recently met with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. The decision comes as Governor DeWine prepares to appoint Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted to fill JD Vance's vacant Senate seat. Ramaswamy is also co-chair of President Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk. An Ohio operative familiar with Ramaswamy's thinking stated, "Vivek's base plan remains the same: to get accomplishments at DOGE and then announce a run for governor shortly." Ramaswamy is reportedly dominating in all the polls.
