Virginia-Based Jury Orders CACI to Pay $42 Million for Abu Ghraib Abuses

A Virginia-based federal jury has found that defense contractor CACI shared responsibility with the U.S. Army for the abuse of detainees at Abu Ghraib military prison in Iraq. The jury awarded $42 million in damages to three Iraqi men who testified that they were tortured at the facility two decades ago. The ruling determined that CACI aided and abetted the torture carried out by the U.S. military.
