VisitVictim Recovers $71M WBTC in Phishing Attack, Hacker Gets $7.2M Bounty

In a recent development, a victim of a $71 million phishing attack involving 1,155 WBTC has successfully recovered their funds. The attacker, who initially stole the WBTC, converted the assets to 22,960 Ethereum (ETH), valued at approximately $67.26 million. The full amount was returned to the victim following negotiations facilitated by the cybersecurity agency Match Systems and the Cryptex cryptocurrency exchange. The victim had promised a 10% bounty to the hacker, who initiated contact via Telegram to discuss the return of the funds. The attacker returned the funds in exchange for a $7.2 million 'bounty'.
