VisitVenezuela's Caracas Hit by Major Power Outage on Friday, Government Blames Sabotage
Aug 30, 2024, 10:29 AM
Venezuela is experiencing a significant power outage affecting its capital, Caracas, and multiple regions across the country. The Venezuelan Interior and Justice Minister, Diosdado Cabello, denounced the outage as a result of a terrorist attack allegedly perpetrated by the far right. The Venezuelan government has attributed the widespread blackout to sabotage, reminiscent of similar incidents in 2019. The outage has led to a substantial disruption in national connectivity, with internet access dropping to 20% of normal levels. Reports indicate that the power failure is either total or partial in all states, impacting at least 13 regions, including Carabobo. The power outage occurred early on Friday.
