Venezuela Fines TikTok $10 Million, Orders Office Setup Over Viral Challenges That Killed Three Children

Venezuela's Supreme Court has imposed a $10 million fine on TikTok for failing to implement measures to prevent viral video challenges that have allegedly led to the deaths of three children due to the ingestion or inhalation of chemical substances. The court also ordered TikTok to establish an office in Venezuela to ensure compliance with local laws. The fine must be paid within eight days, or further sanctions may be imposed. The money from the fine will be used to create a fund for victims of these challenges, particularly aimed at compensating for psychological, emotional, and physical damages to children and adolescents.
