VisitVenezuela Detains Three Americans, Two Spaniards, and Czech Citizen Over Alleged Plot to Assassinate Maduro
Sep 14, 2024, 08:31 PM
Venezuela has detained several foreigners, including three Americans, two Spaniards, and a Czech citizen, on allegations of plotting to destabilize the country and assassinate President Nicolás Maduro. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello reported the seizure of over 400 rifles and pistols, which were allegedly linked to a CIA and Spanish intelligence conspiracy. The detainees are also accused of planning an attack on the Argentine embassy in Caracas. Among the detained Americans is an ex Navy SEAL accused of leading a U.S.-backed plot to remove Maduro. This development comes months after the Maduro regime swapped 10 jailed Americans for a Maduro ally imprisoned in the U.S. on money laundering charges.
