VisitVancouver Police Raid Home of Terror-Listed Samidoun Founder Charlotte Kates in Hate Crimes Probe
Nov 16, 2024, 09:28 AM
Vancouver police have raided the east Vancouver home of Charlotte Kates, the founder of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, which was recently designated as a terrorist entity by Canada. The raid, part of a hate crimes investigation, involved an armored vehicle, flashbangs, and heavily armed officers. Kates, a U.S. citizen from New Jersey, is married to a man currently fighting in Lebanon who has been placed on a terrorist watchlist. Samidoun was responsible for chanting 'Death to Canada' during protests last month. Neighbors described the police operation as over the top.
