Valmiki Corporation Scam: Congress MLA Nagendra Arrested by ED in Rs 100 Crore Fraud

The Valmiki Corporation scam has come to light, involving the siphoning off of approximately Rs 100 crore from the corporation's account to various shell companies and a corporation bank in Hyderabad. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken Congress MLA B. Nagendra into custody on July 13. Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that central agencies like the I-T, ED, and CBI should not be used as political tools, while Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy noted that the Karnataka government would not take any action in this case. The remand copy accessed by Times Now claims that the cash was used for Ballari polls and accounts were created in Banjara Hills. Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge alleged political vendetta by the NDA behind Nagendra's arrest. One of the accused, Satyanarayan Varma, reportedly bought a Lamborghini with the embezzled funds.
