Utah State University has hired Bronco Mendenhall as its new head football coach, finalizing a six-year deal, the university announced on December 6, 2024. Mendenhall, an Alpine, Utah native, returns to the Beehive State after a 5-7 season as head coach at the University of New Mexico. The hiring was announced by Utah State Athletic Director Diana Sabau. With 18 years of head coaching experience, including stints at BYU and Virginia, Mendenhall boasts a career record of 140-88, including a 99-43 record over 11 seasons at BYU. Mendenhall will be tasked with rebuilding the Aggies football program and leading them into the Pac-12 conference.
