VisitUSA Gymnastics Appeals with Video Evidence to Reinstate Jordan Chiles' Bronze Medal Submitted in 47 Seconds
Aug 11, 2024, 08:48 PM
USA Gymnastics has formally appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to reinstate Jordan Chiles' bronze medal after new video evidence emerged. The evidence shows that the inquiry into Chiles' score was submitted 47 seconds after the score was posted, within the one-minute deadline. A second statement was submitted 55 seconds after the score. This contradicts the previous CAS ruling, which stated the submission was made after 1:04 minutes. USA Gymnastics did not have access to this video footage before the tribunal's decision. The organization has requested that the CAS ruling be revised based on this new evidence.
