Oct 4, 2024, 06:14 PM
The United States and the United Kingdom have launched a series of airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, targeting weapons systems, bases, and other equipment. The strikes, confirmed by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), hit 15 targets, including locations in Sanaa, Hodeidah, and Dhamar. According to reports from Houthi Al Masirah TV, the airstrikes targeted Hodeidah Airport, the Maintenance area in Sanaa, and the southern part of Dhamar. The airstrikes were conducted using both aircraft and warships, and were aimed at degrading the military capabilities of the Iran-backed Houthi rebels. The attacks come amid escalating tensions in the region, with the Houthis having carried out nearly 100 attacks on ships crossing the Red Sea since November. Specific strikes included 7 airstrikes on Hodeidah, 4 airstrikes on Sanaa, and 1 airstrike on Dhamar.
