VisitUS Judge Dismisses Most of Mexico's $10 Billion Gun Lawsuit
Aug 7, 2024, 11:55 PM
A U.S. judge has dismissed much of Mexico's $10 billion lawsuit against American gun manufacturers. The lawsuit sought to hold these companies responsible for facilitating the trafficking of firearms to violent drug cartels across the U.S.-Mexico border. The judge dismissed claims against six of the eight companies that Mexico had sued in 2021. Mexico alleged that more than 500,000 guns are trafficked annually from the United States, with over 68% made by the companies it sued.
