US Deploys THAAD to Israel, Provides $5.2 Billion Aid as Gallant Declares 'Hezbollah is Crumbling'

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin engaged in discussions with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant regarding the deployment of Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) systems to Israel to bolster its air defenses amid rising threats from Hezbollah and regional instability. Reports indicate that three THAAD systems are now operational in Israel, with over 26 US Air Force C-17 transport planes delivering THAAD components and other military assistance to Israel's Nevatim Air Base since October 14. Gallant stated that Israel is moving from "defeating Hezbollah to destroying it," asserting that "Hezbollah is crumbling." Furthermore, Israel's Defense Ministry announced the completion of an exchange of letters with the Pentagon regarding the implementation of special assistance worth $5.2 billion to strengthen Israel's air defense systems, including the Iron Dome, David's Sling, and a laser system under development.
