VisitUS Antisemitic Incidents Soar 200% to Over 10,000 After Oct. 7 Attack, ADL Warns
Oct 7, 2024, 10:47 AM
Antisemitic incidents in the United States have soared by 200% in 2024, reaching an unprecedented total of over 10,000 recorded acts, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). This surge marks the highest number of antisemitic incidents ever recorded in the country, with 1,200 occurring on college campuses alone. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt announced the alarming statistics on CNN's 'State of the Union', describing it as a 'tsunami of anti-Jewish hate' triggered by Hamas' October 7, 2023 terror attack. Nearly 61% of American Jews have encountered antisemitism since that date, with reports indicating that nearly a third of incidents took place at protests against Israel. Greenblatt warned that the American Jewish community is at an 'inflection point' as antisemitism skyrockets, highlighting the urgent need for action amid this historic surge.
