The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has committed to continuing its humanitarian aid efforts for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, despite an impending ban by Israel. UNRWA Commissioner-General Phillippe Lazzarini stated that the agency will persist in its assistance, which is crucial for the Palestinian population. The Israeli ban is set to be enforced by the end of January. Additionally, UN officials emphasized the necessity of removing entry restrictions on aid and addressing law and order to effectively deliver assistance. They confirmed their commitment to providing aid during the current ceasefire, contingent upon the conditions on the ground allowing for such deliveries.
