UNLV's football team delivered a commanding performance in their home opener at Allegiant Stadium, defeating Utah Tech 72-14. The Rebels, led by quarterback Matthew Sluka and wide receiver Ricky White, set a new program record for offensive yards in a game with 695 yards, including 504 rushing yards, the third-highest in team history. Sluka threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another, while White recorded three touchdowns and a blocked punt. Freshman running back Greg Burrell also contributed with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown. UNLV's 72 points are the second most in program history. UNLV, now 2-0 for the season, will next face No. 19 Kansas.
