VisitUniversity of Toronto Clears 'Tentifada' Encampment Following Wednesday Court Injunction
Jul 3, 2024, 09:16 PM
The University of Toronto has cleared an anti-Israel encampment known as the People's Circle for Palestine. The encampment, which had been a point of contention, was dismantled ahead of a 6 p.m. deadline on Wednesday following a court injunction. The injunction ruled that the encampment violated trespass laws. The encampment's removal comes amid a broader context of protests and counter-protests related to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Rebel News reported that their billboard truck displaying anti-Hamas ads was attacked by demonstrators near the University of Toronto. About 30 anti-Israel protesters, part of a group dubbed 'Tentifada,' were involved. Toronto police were involved in the operation to clear the encampment and ensure campus safety.
