VisitUnited Airlines Partners with SpaceX's Starlink for Free In-Flight Wi-Fi on 1,000+ Planes
Sep 13, 2024, 12:11 PM
United Airlines has announced a partnership with Elon Musk's SpaceX to provide free high-speed internet via Starlink across its entire fleet of over 1,000 planes. The airline plans to begin testing the service in early 2025, with passenger flights expected to be equipped later that year. This move aims to enhance the in-flight experience by offering faster and more reliable Wi-Fi, allowing passengers to stream, game, shop, and more on both seatback screens and personal devices. The Starlink service will boost Wi-Fi speeds by up to 100x and will be available gate-to-gate. United is the first major U.S. carrier to adopt Starlink.
